Volunteering with Covenant Care

 

We welcome new volunteers at Covenant Care in both the Day Hospice and the Community Outings Programs, as well as supporting the administration of the program. If you wish to volunteer, please contact our Program Manager on nurse@holycovenant.org.au or 0487 945 615.

 

 

Day Hospice Driver/Accompany Driver

Make a difference: A simple ride can mean the world to someone relying on support. By ensuring safe transport to the Day Hospice, you’re giving clients access to Day Hospice, a community they love.
Schedule: Mondays 9:00–10:00am or 3:00 – 3.30pm (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP, Full driver licence, Safe Ministry compliant
Provided: Van for transport
Your impact: Be the start or end of a client’s day at Covenant Care – showing care and compassion from beginning to end

 

Day Hospice Set Up Crew

Make a difference: Day Hospice is a place of warmth, support and care, and that starts with a well-prepared space. Your effort ensures clients arrive to a welcoming, functional environment where they feel safe and respected.
Schedule: Monday mornings, 8:30–9:00am (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant, ability to lift and carry items
Your impact: Help create an inviting atmosphere that makes clients feel at ease from the moment they arrive

 

Day Hospice Pack Up Crew

Make a difference: Every detail matters. Packing up properly ensures the hospice continues to run smoothly, making it easier for carers and volunteers to provide excellent service every week.
Schedule: Monday afternoons, 3:00–3:30pm (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant, ability to lift and carry items
Your impact: Preserve the continuity of care by keeping the space organised and giving ready access for the next hospice day

 

Day Hospice Client Carer

Make a difference: A kind word, a cup of tea, a listening ear—your presence and care make a client’s day brighter and provides real relief to their families and carer. You’re not just a volunteer, you’re a companion [in] on their journey.
Schedule: Monday, 9:30 AM–3:00 PM (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant
Your impact: Bring companionship, dignity, and joy into the lives of our clients

 

Day Hospice Kitchen Team

Make a difference: Good food has a way of bringing comfort, and your care helps make that possible. By preparing ingredients, plating meals, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly, you help create moments of connection for our clients—because nourishment is often the simplest path to feeling seen and supported.
Schedule: Monday, 9:45am–3:00pm (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant, Safe Food Handling (online)
Your impact: Your contribution helps nourish both body and spirit

 

Day Hospice Activity Team Member

Make a difference: Your creative energy and enthusiasm bring delight and joy to our clients’ day. Your presence and ideas will truly create a “day with a difference” for our clients.
Schedule: Monday, 9:30am–3:00pm (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant
Your impact: Bring creativity, intrigue, engagement and joy into the lives of our clients

 

Community Outing Companion

Make a difference: A kind word, a cup of tea, a listening ear – your companionship make a huge difference to our clients who attend our regular community events. Whether it be driving a client, sharing in morning tea or returning them home, your support will allow our clients to attend and flourish in our community.
Schedule: Mornings (not Monday) – four times a year
Requirements: WWVP card, Safe Ministry compliant
Your impact: Bring companionship, engagement, dignity and joy into the lives of our clients

 

Covenant Care Management Committee Member

Make a difference: Your expertise helps steer the Covenant Care programs, ensuring they remain effective and sustainable. Your strategic oversight ensures the stability, safety and sustainability of Covenant Care programs.
Schedule: Bi-monthly meetings, plus additional assistance as required
